The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 7:00 P.M. on October 3, 2018 live from Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Elasto Painters are eager to break their two-game losing skid this 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup while the Aces wanted to get back to their winning ways after bumping a setback against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel
Rain or Shine was given the task to represent the country last 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia. They have brought their core team and was reinforced by Fil-Am and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jordan Clarkson.
Although they failed to bring home the exquisite hardware but RoS Pilipinas finished at fifth place in that tournament.
Coaching staff and the RoS organization thought that the experience that their players got by playing the best squad in Asia will translate in the PBA. However, it seems that it does the opposite by looking at their current standings (0-2).
“They should be stepping up more given the fact that they saw action against the best in Asia. Dapat pagbalik nila they’re playing better than what they’re playing now,” said Rain or Shine head coach Caloy Garcia.
To address their losing woes, coach Garcia replaced their import J’Nathan Bullock to former San Miguel Beermen foreign hire Terrence Watson.
The Aces on the other hand were on a hot streak prior to their game against the Gin Kings. Still they’re one of the best squads as the tournament now enters midway of its schedule.
It is expected that Alaska will have more energy and will be ready to execute their back-court press considering that they’re coming from a month rest.
