The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters at 4:30 P.M. on August 26, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
After its stellar start along with their super hyped import, the Aces are now on a mission to make back-to-back victories. In contrast, the KaTropa need to pick up a win with an foreign hire in their aid.
Looking at the stats, indeed Stacey Davis is much better compared with Mike Glover but Talk ‘N Text weren’t able to pull a victory against the Blackwater Elite last Wednesday.
TNT were leading by two points with less than a minute in the fourth quarter. Terrence Romeo and the entire team were doing the delaying tactics but the high-scoring guard lost his dribble and the ball was stolen by Henry Walker.
That Elite’s defensive stop leads to a slam dunk and a tie ball-game which ended to an overtime. In the extra period, TNT got dominated by Allein Maliksi and eventually lost another game.
Despite that KaTropa got defeated, Alaska head coach Alex Compton believes that it was only one of those bad games had and they still stay one of the dangerous ball-clubs in the league.
“Sometimes good teams have bad games. And it happens to everybody,” Compton said.
However for Alaska, it was a good win for them to start the third conference as they topple the back-to-back Governors’ Cup runner-up. the Meralco Bolts also last Wednesday.
Mike Harris was as good as advertised as he delivered 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Aces but the former NBA player thinks that his two-nights-ago performance is below satisfactory level.
“We kind of got to a very slow start with it being our first game and the locals trying to adjust to me and me trying adjust to them,” said Harris.
