In a vlog posted on Friday, Alex Gonzaga has revealed that she and her family, including fiancé Mikee Morada, have survived COVID-19.
According to Gonzaga, the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak occurred in their household after a family member returned from buying food outside. The incident forced the actress and famous YouTuber to miss her new noontime show on TV5, Lunch Out Loud (L.O.L.). This also forced her to cancel her family and personal plans.
“Maraming nagtatanong sa akin kung bakit di pa ko lumalabas sa Lunch Out Loud. Hindi po ako nagpapakita sa show kasi nagka-COVID po ako and thank God ako ay naka-survive. Actually, the whole family. I’ve been sharing all the highs of my life. I shared with you our Christmas together, our new year, my engagement. But it is also nice if I could share with you the lows,” shared Gonzaga.
Admitting that she was frustrated upon knowing she tested positive for COVID-19, which delayed some of her plans and supposed life milestones, including her wedding with Morada, Gonzaga stressed: “Gusto ko ikasal ngayon kasama ‘yung family, konting friends pero dahil sa walang kakwenta-kwentang bagay, nakuha namin COVID.”
Alex’s parents, Pinty and Bonoy Gonzaga, were both asymptomatic, with her mom contracting the viral disease first. She, along with Mikee and Sophie, experienced mild symptoms.
She experienced a loss of taste and appetite, a slight fever, sore throat, clogged nose, and feeling weak.
Furthermore, Alex assured that her sister Toni and her own family were safe and did not catch the disease. Fortunately, none of them needed hospitalization.
Gonzaga, along with former Kapamilya stars Billy Crawford, K Brosas, Wacky Kiray, and Bayani Agbayani, hosts the newest noontime variety show on the Kapatid channel.
