Alyssa Valdez, a decorated Filipino volleyball player who currently plays in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) for a local club team named Creamline Cool Smashers and plays for the collegiate varsity women’s volleyball team of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), was taught basic volleyball schools by a popular YouTube vlogger Mimiyuuuh in a newly released vlog.
In his recent YouTube vlog titled “Mimiyuuuh as volleyball coach ni Alyssa Valdez! (Spiking Ina!!!!),” Mimiyuuuh told his viewers that Alyssa hired him for a one-on-one coaching session to learn a new perspective on volleyball and acquire various strategies, wisdom, and form.

To start the one-on-one volleyball session, Mimiyuuuh asked Alyssa to do some warm-up drills and basic stretching, which her former coaches taught her during their practices. Alyssa did what she was asked to do, but she was immediately corrected by a visibly dismayed Mimiyuuuh and taught her the vlogger’s “proper” way of stretching.
Known for her dinosaur antics and her “Dinosaur Ka Girl?” line, Mimiyuuuh contorted her limbs and mimicked a Tyrannosaurus (T-Rex) hands, and told Alyssa that what he’s doing is the proper way of stretching. Alyssa then laughingly followed the vlogger’s commands.
When asked how long the stretching duration will be, Mimiyuuuh jokingly said that the stretching longevity depends on the amount she loaned in the bank, making Alyssa laugh.
Secondly, Mimiyuuuh taught Alyssa how to properly serve the volleyball ball, one of the basic skills in the sport, and considered as the first contact that starts every rally. Commonly, the types of services are overhand, underhand, floater, topspin, and jump serve.
According to Mimiyuuuh, while serving, Alyssa should make a mean face, screech while dribbling the ball, and do a jump serve with her feet going sideways. Mimiyuuuh added that Alyssa should smile less to avoid not being taken seriously by her opponent.
Thirdly, the vlogger who at the time of writing have 3.77 million followers on YouTube, schooled Alyssa her different types of setting: Pan set (an eponym for pancit, a Filipino noodle dish), Up set (coined from the word upset), and Mori set (named after singer Morissette Amon).
Lastly, Mimiyuuuh instructed Alyssa his so-called “hidden” spiking technique: Spiking Ina!
