Team Italy continues their domination in Group D and today it was team Angola who felt their might as they made another huge victory, 92-61.
Similar to Italy’s first game against Gilas Pilipinas, they torched their opponent from the rainbow country shooting an impressive 40% (12-of-30) accuracy while they disturbed the vision of Angola from the same area and allowed them to 11% (2-of-18).
In this match, it was Marco Belinelli who took the main offensive weapon for the Italians as he led his club in scoring with 17 points while Awudu Abass and Daniel Hackett each scored 11 markers.
All quarters were dominated by team Italy although the Angolans tried their best by throwing physical defense.
Talking about physicality in the game, with only 16.6 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter a scuffle has occurred.
It was between Italy’s Alessandro Gentile and Angola’s Leonel Paulo. The two players were fighting for position and then the pushing against each other began. Paulo threw a headbutt which he was later called for a disqualifying foul.
Apart from their basketball action that might be the other highlight of their match.
Team Italy’s next game will be against Serbia while Angola will meet Gilas Pilipinas in their last schedule in Group Stage.
