The UAAP Season 81 madness resumes today and this time it’s time for the Blue Eagles and the Tamaraws to take centrerstage.
Ateneo carries a twice-to-beat advantage as they finished number at the end of the eliminations round. The Tamaraws are looking to push their series to knockout game similar to what the UP Fighting Maroons did yesterday.
FEU head coach Olsen Racela admitted that their primary concern this afternoon is the Ivorian player of Ateneo. In their last clash in the elims, Angelo Kouame dropped most probably his best performance in the tournament. Kouame pounded the Tamaraws with his monstrous 33 points and 27 rebounds.
“Last year wala si (Angelo) Kouame. Iyon ang headache namin ngayon (Last year, Angelo Kouame wasn’t around yet. He’s our headache now),” said Racela.
Far Eastern University is not a team that can be pushed over, they have already proved that. In preliminary round, they have won back-to-back games against Ateneo and Adamson.
However, after that they have difficulty log more victories and was on a verge of getting eliminated. Yet, their now back in the semis and once again will face their usual foe in the playoffs.
“We’ll see what we can do,” said Racela. “We’ll prepare hard for this game, we’ll prepare the boys hard, we’ll see what happens.”
