The Bacolod Master Sardines is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Davao Occidental Tigers at 4:00 P.M. on July 20, 2019 live from the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
The Master Sardines will try to pick up their third victory for the season while the Tigers are eyeing for their third straight wins when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup resumes this afternoon in Pasay City.
The Bacolod squad is coming from a humiliating defeat against the hands of the San Juan Knights last July 10.
Their opponent took advantage of their size as they used the low post to dominate the game.
San Juan outrebounded the Master Sardines, 44-28 and almost unstoppable inside the paint as they registered 44 markers.
Jopher Custodio tried to rally his team as he logged 16 points and 6 boards but failed to snag the “W”.
For the Davao group, they’re coming in from a convincing victory against the Rizal Golden Coolers last July 16.
Similar to their last season’s championship round opponent, the Tigers owned the paint.
They also won the rebounding battle, 55-30 and points in the paint, 34-18.
Former PBA player Mark Yee led his team with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Yee is a native of Sagay City, Negros Occidental which several hours away from Bacolod.
