The injured rookie, Jeremiah Gray, Terrafirma’s first-round pick, has been exchanged for Ginebra’s Javi Gomez de Liaño and Brian Enriquez. Head coach Tim Cone said that Ginebra is willing to take chances on the rookie’s injured knee.
“Jeremiah is a talent we’re ready to wait for,” said, Cone. Gray was not able to join the draft together with his other draftees since he is still recovering from an ACL operation in the US.
“Reports are that he may be out a whole year from now, but he’s young and we’re an established team [that] can wait, especially with Stanley [Pringle’s] return,” Cone shared.
Gray can contribute offensively and defensively for the Barangay Ginebra with his versatile kit while Stanley Pringle still can not play due to a left meniscus injury.
MJ Ayaay has parted ways with Ginebra also as he got traded to the NorthPort Batang Pier for a 2023 second-round pick.
Ginebra’s 8th overall pick in the second round, Jayson David, will also join the action in the upcoming season.
