The Gin Kings actually needed another five minutes to seal the deal and was trailing in the fourth quarter right after the three-point bombardment unleashed by TNT led by Jay Washington and Jayson Castro.

Just like in their Game 5 semi-finals game against the Meralco Bolts, Ginebra was steady and displayed their patented “Never-Say-Die” spirit. This time it was the LA Tenorio and rookie Arvin Tolentino connection to set the score at 92-all.

Tropang Giga guard Jayson Castro had a chance to lead his team to escape with a victory yet his floater just went back rimmed as the final buzzer of the regulation was heard.

In the extra period, Ginebra defense went full swing as they outscored Talk ‘N Text with only two points, thanks to RR Pogoy who made sure his squad won’t go scoreless in the overtime.

It was the leadership of PBA’s reigning “Iron Man” LA Tenorio that put Ginebra in the winning side. Tenorio’s decision in the crucial moment of the game was sharp as his dishes ended up with either an easy layup or a thunderous slam.

The Exclamation Point!

“Tenyente” Tenorio scored 12 points and logged as assists of 10 while Japeth Aguilar topped all scorers with 25 points along with his 16 rebounds.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. tried to carry the scoring load for his squad and delivered 20 points while Pogoy added 19 markers. Jay Washington moved the hands back in time as he chipped in with 14 points where 12 of those are from downtown.

Game 2 of the championship round between Ginebra and TNT will resume on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
