The Batangas squad is coming from a loss versus the Nueva Ecija Vanguards last January 6 at the San Andres Sports Complex.

In the last 47 seconds of the final quarter in their previous game, the score was a deadlock at 81-all. Then the Vanguards able to find its way for them to secure the win as they scored the last four points of that said ball-game.

Rey Suerte led the Athletics with his 17 points and seven rebounds performance while Jason Melano added 16 markers and eight boards.

For the Ilonggo squad, on the other hand, they too absorbed another defeat versus the Muntinlupa Cagers last December 20 also at the San Andres Sports Complex.

The Cagers used the painted area to dominate the game where they unleashed 52 points. The Royals tried to counter it with their long-range bombings where they swished 16 three-pointers, yet, not enough for them to secure the victory.

Aaron Jeruta led Iloilo with his 21 points and five assists output while Al Francis Tamsi chipped in with 18 markers and five boards.
