The Blacwater Elite is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Columbian Dyip at 4:30 P.M. on October 11, 2019 live from the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.
The Elite wanted to pick up another win while the Dyip will try to make consistent winning this conference when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes this afternoon in Pasay.
This 4:00 PM match will feature two of the league’s upcoming superstars as 2018 Draft’s top pick CJ Perez will battle 2018 Draft’s second pick Bobby Ray Parks.
In their initial encounter, Parks went victorious as he dropped 23 points and five rebounds while Perez tried to counter it with his 17 markers and seven boards.
It’s expected that the former LPU Pirates standout will try to take his revenge while Parks wanted to continue his domination as both of them also chasing the Rookie of the Year honors.
Apart from that individual awards, both players will try to bring their respective squads to the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup playoffs.
For Dyip’s head coach Johnedel Cardel, he’ll try to make his first post-elims appearance after taking over the lead bench tactician last June 2018.
“Kailangang manalo kami bukas (Friday). Importante sa amin iyon,” said Cardel.
“Kapag nanalo bukas, medyo mas lalaki ang chance namin to make it to quarterfinals kaya sabi ko kailangang kunin namin bukas,” he added. “Kaya namang manalo, ang goal namin is to make it to the quarterfinals and nakikita ko naman sa kanila ‘yung determinasyon na pumasok kami.”
For his counterpart, coach Aris Dimaunahan has the same thing in mind. He wanted his troops to at least duplicate what they did against the NorthPort Batang Pier where they got their first win this third conference.
“Kasi iba talaga sila ngayon, bawa’t possession ipinaglalaban nila, eh. So kailangan namin na matapatan o mahigitan iyon para magkaroon kami ng advantage. Sana kagaya last game (against NorthPort) na kami nag-dictate ng laro right from the start hanggang sa dulo.”
