The Blackwater Elite is scheduled for a best-of-three series against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 4:30 P.M. on July 20, 2019 live from the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Quarterfinals have arrived and to start the intense playoff series, the Elite and the Elasto Painters will do the honors.
With the addition of Bobby Ray Parks and the newly installed head coach Aris Dimaunahan, Blackwater became a totally new team at this conference.
They sat first in the standings for several weeks and had the chance to finish at number one after the elimination round.
Yet, they stumbled on some issues related to their import which cost them a few games and they slide down to number three.
To resolve that import problem, the Elite is bringing back Greg Smith who helped them during their 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign.
“Welcome na welcome namin siya dito and tulungan lahat kami for him na makuha mga gusto namin and he himself is super willing to get into our scheme of things,” said coach Dimaunahan.
“Everyone is upbeat,” he added.
Rain or Shine head coach Caloy Garcia is very well aware of how good their playoffs first-round opponent is.
“Blackwater has been playing great and they bring in Greg Smith who we know is a good import, can create lots of mismatches,” said coach Garcia.
