TNT Tropang Giga forward Bobby Ray Parks Jr. has announced that he won’t be suiting up for his team in the upcoming PBA 46th season.
Parks went to his Instagram account to relay his message to his fans, family, and friends.
“First of all I want to say thank you to all the fans, family and friends who have been supporting me and been following me throughout my basketball career both abroad and in the Philippines.”
He then straight ahead mentioning the main reason why he won’t be joining his teammates in their quest on returning to the biggest stage of the Philippine Cup and complete the unfinished business where they got eliminated by the eventual champion, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
“It is with a heavy heart that i will have to excuse myself and not partake in this year’s PBA season due to personal reasons which in particular, my family.
It was not an easy decision to make, especially since I’ve been in constant talks with TNT management, but right now, this is what’s best for me and my family.”
According to reports, Parks is now a free agent after his 2020 contract has expired. The ABL Most Valuable Player is looking forward to rejoining the “Tropa” after his no further details issue got resolved.
“I will always be grateful for the opportunity to represent TNT and be part of such a special team and culture. Hopefully, one day, once everything is resolved, I can come back to the team and help bring a championship to TNT.”
Many are expecting that Talk ‘N Text has the potential to return to the Philippine Cup Finals this upcoming new PBA season after the franchise re-hire coach Chot Reyes. Likewise, there’s the ever-dependent veteran Kelly Williams who is also reported earlier that will return to TNT.
Parks was one of the Tropang Giga’s main weapons during the PBA bubble tournament set in Pampanga. Without him, the likes of RR Pogoy, Jayson Castro, and JP Erram need to double their effort to patch the scoring hole that will be left behind as Parks bids farewell at least for the new and upcoming season.
