The pride of Murcia, Negros Occidental, Donnie “Ahas” Nietes won his fourth world boxing title against Japan’s Ioka Kazuto.
Just in time before the fireworks starts to make a bang to welcome the year 2019. Nietes gave another championship belt to the country.
Both warriors are on their feet up to the last round inside the boxing ring of the Wynn Palace Cotai in Macao. Yet, in any competition, only one will take the victory.
Two of the three judges favored Nietes, 118-110 (Levi Martinez) and 116-112 (Patricia Morse Jarman) while 116-112 (Samuel Nieto Gonzalez) sees that the Japanese fighter have the winning edge.
The 36-years-old Nietes will improve his card to 42 wins and only one defeat while Kazuto will add one more loss to his card now having 23 wins and a couple of losses.
