Barangay Kagawad Danilo Flores of San Agustin, Hagonoy, Bulacan got arrested by the police for graft allegations after he was reported that he is collecting more than half of the government’s SAP cash assistance.
His arrest order came from President Rodrigo Roa Duterte according to Col. Roginald Francisco who is the Hagonoy police chief. Flores arrest took place on Saturday night.
Social media user named Lhon Villamayor Perez uploaded a video last April 27 where he was having an argument with Flores. He insisted that the process of SAP cash distribution being done by the village councilor is wrong where later they ended up in an argument.
According to Flores, the 3,500 pesos he was collecting is for the families that were not able to avail the Social Amelioration Program and he claims that he was instructed by Hagonoy Mayor Raulito Manlapaz.
However, the town’s top official denied any involvement in the alleged anomalous cash distribution which was executed by Flores in his barangay.
Flores was also mentioned during President Duterte’s weekly state of the nation address for COVID-19. The president was seen furious of the wrongdoing of the barangay kagawad.
To combat this illegal doings particularly in the SAP distribution, Malacañang announced a 30,000 pesos reward to people who report a corrupt official linked to SAP and other government cash assistance.
