Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters forward Calvin Abueva hits Talk ‘N Text import Terrence Jones during their intense PBA battle.
Just to remind you, this is just the elimination round but for TNT and Phoenix it seems like they’re already in the playoff of the mid-season tourney.
In the 7:32 mark of the fourth quarter, “the Beast” and the NBA veteran Jones was seen that there was already commotion between them.
Abueva looks like he intentionally pushed Jones down to the floor. When Jones tried to get-up it also appear that he retaliate by hitting Calvin in his groin.
Those instances passed the eyes of the referres and the play went on as KaTropa big-man Yousef Taha added two more points to his team.
That time Abueva’s knees was on the deck of the Ynares Center as he was in pain.
The game was put on a halt for few minutes. Abueva got up and made a quick jog probably for him to get an instant recovery.
However, in the next play it seems that once again Abueva intentionally hit Jones and this time on his neck.
Jones went down to the floor and when he got up he immediately looked for Abueva maybe to fight back. That time, the referees were involved and slapped Abueva with a technical foul and then later he got ejected from the game.
Just less than three minutes in the first quarter, these two teams immediately shown their physicality in the game where several players also got tossed out from the Ynares Center floor.
TNT won the game in a blowout fashion, 114-88. Terrence Jones most likely got fired up and his scoring explosiveness got awaken once again as he dropped 40 points.
