Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters star forward Calvin Abueva will remain in the sidelines this upcoming 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.
That’s according to PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial but he also gave hope that the “Beast” will play sooner than expected once the requirement he asked for Calvin to is met.
“Nag-uusap kami. May pinag-uusapan pa kami. May pinapagawa pa ako,” said Marcial.
Abueva got suspended last June 2019 or during the early stages of the 2019 PBA Commissioner Cup. First, he got involved in a verbal spat with Ray Ray Parks Jr., girlfriend, Maika Rivera then he aggravates his situation when he clotheslined the TNT KaTropa’s import, Terrence Jones.
After Abueva joined the Fuel Masters back in August 2018, the franchise instantly became a championship contender. He helped Phoenix to 8-3 record (2nd) in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup then 9-2 record (1st) in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.
“Kapag naayos agad ‘yun at okay na, ie-elevate ko sa board kung ano ang recommendation ko,” he added.
