Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference between the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Crossovers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, scheduled on August 7, 2021, at 4:00 PM.
Chery Tiggo defeated Black Mamba Army Lady Troopers 25-16, 25-16, 25-21 in its previous match to go to the PVL 2021 semifinals.
The Crossovers’ blazing offensive was propelled by ace siblings Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Jaja Santiago, who led the team to their third straight win and a 6-2 overall record, good for third place behind Choco Mucho (7-1) and Creamline Cool Smashers (8-1).
Dindin had 18 points on 16 kills and two service aces, while Jaja had 15 points on 12 spikes, two blocks, and an ace for Chery.
Mylene Paat had eight points and nine excellent receptions, Shaya Adorador had seven markers and 16 excellent digs, while Jasmine Nabor led the Crossovers’ offense with 29 excellent sets.
Chery cruised to great starts, taking the opening two sets easily with the backing of the Santiago sisters and Nabor.
Choco Mucho, meanwhile, defeated Petro Gazz Angels in four sets, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, to keep their hopes alive for the second spot.
With the win, the Flying Titans improved their record to 7-1, while the 6-3 Angels were relegated to fourth place.
After trading the first and second sets, the Flying Titans surged in the third set. Then, in the fourth set, they pulled off a comeback to win the match.
Choco Mucho gained much-needed separation in the fourth set as Regine Arocha and Deanna Wong scored consecutively for a 23-30 lead.
Ivy Perez, Jessey De Leon, and Remy Palma, though, fired three consecutive points to tie the game at 23.
De Leon’s serve fault placed the Flying Titans on match point. Perez then made another blunder, bringing the match to a close at 25-23.
Maddie Madayag had 14 points and six blocks in the win, while Ponggay Gaston also had 14.
Kat Tolentino finished with 13 points and 20 excellent digs. Arocha had her finest game yet, but she was plagued by cramps near the end. Despite this, she had 13 points, with Bea De Leon adding ten.
Deanna Wong ended with 26 excellent sets and nine points. Denden Lazaro-Revilla, on the other hand, had 21 excellent digs and 13 excellent receptions.
