Hong Kong’s big man and playing at the center position, Duncan Reid dropped 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds along with five assists helped his team pile up a lead of nine points in the second quarter.

However, his stellar 2017 FIBA Asia Cup debut wasn’t enough to deliver them a win against their neighbor country, the Chinese Taipei.

Hong Kong got beaten at the end with a final score of 77-62.

In this tournament, Chinese Taipei will be playing minus their naturalized player Quincy Davis due to a back injury he suffered during the 2017 William Jones Cup.

During their openig game, the Taiwanese players turned to Chou Po-Hsun and Chou Yi-Hsiang as their go-to-guys.

Po-Hsun scored 16 points with his 13 rebounds while his teammate Yi-Hsiang registered 22 points where most of his scores came from second half.
