The newly acquired swingman of Blackwater Elite will miss a game against his former team, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
It was reported via spin.ph that the athletic player was confined in a hospital since Tuesday due to full-body cramps.
“After ng first day niya with us, nag-cramps yung full body niya, so dinala agad siya sa hospital para ma-check,” said Blackwater assistant coach Aries Dimaunahan.
“Sa mga fans ni Chris na naglo-look forward to play against his former team, baka hindi pa mangyari bukas,” he added. “Hopefully next coming games, maging available na siya.”
With Ginebra is on a winning streak this conference, many of the “Never-Say-Die” fans got surprised of the trade.
Ellis along with Dave Marcelo swapped places with Art dela Cruz and Raymond Aguilar.
The good news for those fans who are waiting for the game, Dave Marcelo will be playing and will be seen defending Greg Slaughter tomorrow.
Marcelo is expected to be the reliever Poy Erram.
“He’ll be coming in to spell Poy (Erram) and defend Greg (Slaughter),” Dimaunahan said of Marcelo. “Hopefully maging maganda ang debut ni Dave sa Blackwater.”
