GlobalPort’s mentor Franz Pumaren had a heated argument with his guard Stanley Pringle during their game against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Sunday.
The last time Ginebra and GlobalPort went head-to-head was last 2017 Commissioner’s Cup and there was a drama took place. Terrence Romeo punched LA Tenorio and as a result both of them got slapped with technical fouls.
This time around, the drama didn’t happen between the two opposing teams but within the GlobalPort’s bench.
The former San Miguel Beermen point guard and now serves as the current head coach for the Batang Pier got upset when their opponent made two consecutive lay-ups.
GlobalPort called a timeout and in the team huddle it was seen that Pumaren is talking with Pringle. Then all of the sudden the other half of the “Slash Brothers” throw his towel and the heated argument started.
“You don’t talk to me like that… you don’t talk to me like that. You didn’t hustle on defense” said Pumaren while Pringle’s teammates are trying to cool him down.
He was immediately replaced by Jonathan Gray as Pringle still not in a good mood or probably a way of how Pumaren discipline his player.
The good thing happen was when the game resumed in the third quarter, Pumaren and Pringle quickly settle the issues between them.
However, Barangay Ginebra took advantage of the situation and went blazing. Almost all Gin Kings players able to contribute in scoring.
The game ended with a blowout and Ginebra took home the W with a margin of 16 points (124-108).
