The hometown of President Rodrigo Duterte was shaken by a huge explosion Friday night that resulted to 14 casualties and injured more than 60 individuals according to police and local officials reports.
Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte has confirmed that an initial 10 casualties who died on the spot according to City Government of Davao Facebook Page.
The cause of the explosion or who held responsible has yet to be determined.
“Right now, we cannot yet give definite answer to as to who is behind this as we are also trying to determine what really exploded,” said Paolo, a son of President Duterte. “It’s a sad day for Davao and for the Philippines.”

The explosion took place at around 10: p.m., and this is usually the time which many people flock to the popular night market located at Roxas Avenue based on the statement of Davao City police Inspector Katherine Dela Rey during her interview with DZMM.
