The Davao Occidental Tigers is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Cebu City Sharks at 7:00 P.M. on August 29, 2019 live from the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
The Tigers will try to stretch their winning streak to eight and keep the top spot of the South Division while the Sharks will make an attempt for a quick bounce back when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup resumes in Pasay this evening.
The Davao squad had no problem dismantling the Quezon City Capitals during their August 16 outing at the Pasig Sports Complex.
Their defense was so suffocating and the result was 26 points after the first half for the Capitals.
As usual, the Tigers went to their trademark strategy and that’s the domination on the rebounding and point inside the paint.
Mark Yee continues to be consistent in his double-double performance and during that basketball showdown, he logged 15 markers and 14 boards.
For the Cebuano group on the other hand, they fell against the defending champion, the San Juan Knights last August 19 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Their second unit got outscored by San Juan support group, 34-49. Likewise, they got outpowered in the rebounding department which some of those turned out to 20 second-chance points for their opponent.
Edrian Lao was the leading scorer for the Sharks in that match where he registered 14 points and 8 boards.
