Farms And Several Houses Got Destroyed After Tornado Hits A Village In South Cotabato

Several trees were uprooted, electric power posts were toppled and also roofs were ripped as soon as tornado hit Barangay Lambayong in the town of Tampakan, South Cotabato at about 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.



Locals stated they experienced powerful winds and rain.

An uprooted coconut tree smashed a house and injured Sarifa Garcia, 42 who was rushed to the hospital.

Based on her husband, Abner, they were in their house when it occurred. Sarifa was hurt on her forehead as well as injured her waist however Abner said she is now in much better condition.

Their residence, on the other hand, ended up ruined.

The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of Lambayong documented that one house was entirely destroyed, while four were partly ruined.



Over 10-hectares of banana, corn, as well as papaya farms were also ruined. Following the evaluation of the Barangay, more than P200,000 worth of houses and also crops were damaged.
