Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers between the Gilas Pilipinas and Thailand, scheduled on November 27, 2020, at 9:00 PM.

In the first of a slated two-game series, Gilas Pilipinas, currently sporting a 1-0 record in the tournament, begins its campaign in the November window of the qualifiers against Thailand, who has also played only one game, 0-1, losing to group leader South Korea (2-0), 93-86.

Contrary to the Philippine men’s basketball team’s previous roster, Gilas this time around will be bannered by purely by amateur and collegiate stars. Despite this, the veteran Jong Uichico-coached team is eyeing to stay unscathed and build momentum for the qualifiers’ future windows.

Sixteen players are included in the Gilas pool for the November window, namely: Kobe Paras, Juan, and Javi Gomez De Liano, Jaydee Tungcab, Dwight Ramos, Dave Ildefonso, Will Navarro, Justine Baltazar, Calvin Oftana, Kenmark Carino, Isaac Go, Matt, and Mike Nieto, Rey Suerte, Angelo Kouame, and Allyn Bulanadi. The 12 players who will be on tap for the team’s first game has not yet been named.

Due to the still ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the Philippines has played only one game to date in Group A, a 100-70 victory over Indonesia (0-2) in February in Jakarta.

Dwight Ramos, Isaac Go, Juan Gomez De Liano, and Matt Nieto were part of the team then, combining for 31 points.

Meanwhile, Thailand will rely on Thai-American Tyler Lamb, who, during their defeat at the hands of South Korea, scored a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Contributing 15, 13, and 12 points apiece, Nakorn Jaisanuk, Chanatip Jakrawan, and Wattana Suttisin will also play a key role in the match later tonight.

At the end of the qualifiers, only the top two teams in the respective groups will advance to the FIBA Asia Cup set for August next year.
