The GenSan Warriors is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Imus Banderas at 6:30 P.M. on August 31, 2019 live from the Mayor Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City.
The Warriors wanted to catch up with the top team in the South Division in terms of winning while the Banderas is looking to start a winning streak when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup resumes in Zamboanga City this evening.
The General Santos squad ended the ten-game winning streak of the San Juan Knights last August 23 at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.
Not only that, they gave San Juan their first taste of defeat this season. In return, the Warriors are in a high spirit going to its tonight’s assignment.
Robby Celiz and Mike Williams led the scoring rally of GenSan in that game where both players made a combined 50 points effort.
For the Imus group, on the other hand, they were able to escape from the hands of the Nueva Ecija Forest Lake last August 20 at the Batangas City Coliseum.
Once again, it was the heroics and the experience of Jayjay Helterbrand helped Imus to log a victory. Helterbrand sunk crucial free-throws in that later portion of the fourth quarter enough to make the needed separation.
Helterbrand flirter a triple-double output in that basketball clash where he manufactured 11 points, seven boards, and eight assists.
