Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes revealed the 12-man roster who will see action in the upcoming 2017 FIBA Asia Cup which will be held in Lebanon.
The veteran coach published the stamped FIBA form through his official twitter account. The most notable Gilas member who isn’t part of the lineup is the naturalized player Andray Blatche.
According to reports, the former Brooklyn Nets forward is having second thoughts on joining the trip and it’s because of the security situation in Lebanon.
Apart from Blatche, other Gilas members who represented the country during the 2017 SEABA Championships who weren’t able to make the final cut were Allein Maliksi and Troy Rosario.
Their replacement were Carl Bryan Cruz, Gabe Norwood and Christian Standhardinger. Cruz and Standhardinger are still fresh from their 2017 William Jones Cup stint where the Philippines squad finished fourth.
Gabe Norwood who last played under former Gilas coach Tab Baldwin will reprise his role as the long and athletic guard for the Pinoy basketball club.
