Gilas Pilipinas will resume its bid to gain a ticket for this year’s FIBA big event scheduled to be played in China.
After losing back-to-back games at home, the Philippine squad needs to sweep its remaining two games to strenghten their chance to qualify in the next round.
Their first assignment is against the team Qatar and this will be played in Doha on February 22 at 12:00 AM (PHI time).
To boost their chances, coach Yeng Guiao was looking for a player who can demand a double-team.
That player is none other than the naturalized player of the Philippines, Andray Blatche.
Gilas will also feature one of its original recruits, Andy Mark Barroca will be back in the international scene.
Also, one of the new faces in the group is Ateneo Blue Eagles Thirdy Ravena. His older brother Kiefer Ravena was also part of the squad in the early stages of the competition but got suspended due to an illegal substance found in his urine.
