The Gilas Pilipinas is scheduled for a head-to-head game against team South Korea at 3:00 PM on June 20, 2021, live from Clark, Pampanga in the Philippines.

The Philippines’ national basketball team will try to make a clean sweep in the current window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers round while team South Korea wanted to avenge their defeat just a few days ago.

Though the squad already qualified for the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup yet head coach Tab Baldwin and his wards will try to prove that their victory last Wednesday wasn’t accidental.

Apart from team Gilas, the Koreans are also on a hot streak by winning their other assignments. Of course, in this afternoon’s rematch, they also wanted to get things even.

Coach Baldwin seems satisfied with what his squad has accomplished though there are areas that need to be improved for them to be extraordinary.

“We looked like what I thought we might look like early in this campaign. We didn’t settle down. We tried to push the tempo and think we’re not yet ready to be an up-tempo team and then to flow to some halfcourt cohesion,” said Baldwin

During their game against team Indonesia, Gilas started the match slow as the squad of former Gilas head coach Rajko Toroman appeared to be more aggressive. However, in the second half, team Philippines able to make adjustments and it was the start of their scoring rampage.

“We really lacked self-discipline, like the discipline in the culture that we’re working hard to establish. Without that, we’re pretty ordinary,” Baldwin said.
