The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Alaska Aces at 6:45 P.M. on January 21, 2018 live from the Ynares Center-Antipolo.
The Aces winning ways are now back and coach Alex Compton wanted more W in their win-loss card while the Gin Kings are looking for a bounce-back game after got defeated by a surprising the Blackwater Elite.
For the first time this conference, Alaska prized rookie Jeron Teng was able to led his team in scoring and the same time delivered the victory. Teng dropped 23 points and nine rebounds against Kia Picanto, enough to name him as the Bida Player of the Game.
However, looking at their previous victories, Alaska has beaten the two bottom teams (Kia and Meralco) while their losses came from Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok and Talk ‘N Text KaTropa. In their tonight’s game they’ll be facing another giant in Barangay Ginebra.
Coach Compton knows exactly what to do but these all depends on the execution of his players.
“We have our work cut out for us. We have really got to improve defensively and take care of the ball,” said Alaska coach Alex Compton.
“We will be looking to really be sharper on some of our defensive schemes and take care of the ball. If we do those things, then we will have a chance,” Compton added.
After got escaped and stole the game against the GlobalPort Batang Pier, Barangay Ginebra’s succumbed to Poy Erram and to the rest of the Blackwater Elite.
Ginebra are coming-in from their nine days break and the team probably have the needed adjustments and chase Magnolia and San Miguel at the top of the standings.
“Baka dahil don (loss against Blackwater), magising kami. It could be the wake-up call that we need,” he said.
