The Gin Kings are looking for a four-game winning streak and solidify their chances on making to the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals round while the Aces wanted to start another winning streak when PBA resumes this evening.

Just a few days ago, Ginebra has traded their future first round pick for ace shooter, Jeff Chan. His presence was first tested against the Columbian Dyip last Wednesday and the result was great.

Although he only contributed four points in that game but his overall +/- efficiency went through the roof of the Smart Araneta Colisuem where he got +22. That number is brilliant considering that was his first game with the Gin Kings and it already shows that his presence on the floor already made an impact to coach Tim Cone’s squad in terms of team chemistry.

Ginebra needs to activate its “Never-Say-Die” spirit as they get closer on making to the next round and avoid any playoffs game. If given the chance, coach Cone wanted to avoid his former team where he led to a Grand Slam back in the 90s.

“Tough game, tough opponent, and so crucial for both teams,” said Cone.

“Alaska has had a brilliant conference. If we had the choice, we could think of a few other teams we’d rather be playing so that we can make that Top Six. But we don’t, so Alaska it is. It’s going top be a terrific battle,” Cone added.

For Coach Alex Compton on the other hand, his Aces’ seven-game winning streak got ended as they got beaten by Meralco Bolts. With two games left in their schedule, clinching for a top two will be a challenge for them.

“Ginebra is playing great basketball right now and I feel like it will be a playoff atmosphere. We are excited for the game and hoping the PBA fans are thoroughly entertained,” said Compton.
