The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Blackwater Elite at 7:00 P.M. on May 11, 2018 live from the Alonte Sports Arena.
Both the Gin Kings and the Elite will make its separate paths after their 7:00 PM encounter. One will go up in the standings but most especially will have its first victory this 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup while the other one will be buried deeper in the standings.
Although staring at its 0-2 win-loss record, the Barangay Ginebra faithful still have so much to expect this second conference. First is the possible return of their gentle giant Greg Slaughter who was reported that might suit up in their tonight’s game.
“There’s a possibility he might play Friday,” said Cone.
“Obviously if he plays, he will be on minutes restriction. We won’t play him full minutes. And needless to say, we have to be very careful with him,” Cone added.
Second is the possible return of Justin Brownlee with Gin Kings. Brownlee has just completed his obligations with the SMB Alab Pilipinas in ABL and was successful on helping the team snag the championship trophy this season.
“You’ll know if and when, or whatever we decide on it,” said Cone after the Kings reeled to a second straight loss Sunday night.
Charles Garcia, Ginebra’s current import still looking for his basketball groove after his first two games in the PBA. His performance was below average considering that he is a foreign hire where everyone are expecting him to be a 30-20 machine.
Despite of the 41 points and 22 rebounds of Backwater’s import Jarrid Famous, the Elite still unable to pull a win. If they absorb another loss tonight then it will be a must win situation for them in the rest of their schedule this conference to keep their playoffs chances alive.
