Last time these two teams battled with each other was in 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Quarterfinals round. It was a heated game especially between LA Tenorio and Terrence Romeo where both players got slapped each with a technical foul.

Both coaches of separate teams also got their own techincal fouls for stepping onto the court.

Allen Durham and the rest of the Bolts got its revenge after beating Barangay Ginebra last Sunday. That game marked as the last year’s Governor’s Cup Finals rematch.

The “Never-Say-Die” team paraded their center big-man Greg Slaughter who was sidelined for ten months due to an injury.

Immediately, GregZilla made his presence felt and dropped 14 points and 14 rebounds in 30 minutes of action. However, that stellar performance of Slaughter wasn’t enough to deliver them a win.

“We’re adjusting some things here and there as we go and still trying to find our way. But we know we’ll get there, we know we’ll be a force before this conference is over. We just have to trust the process,” Cone added.

Coach Franz Pumaren showing appreciation to his new import after shipping back Jabril Trawick. Murphy Holloway helped Batang Pier to get its first win against Phoenix Fuel Masters in their last outing.

“We’ve found a perfect fit for us – an inside presence that will command a double,” said Pumaren. “He gives us the inside presence, the rebounding. He’s fleet-footed, he’s agile as he’s a former football player playing a year in the NFL.”

Holloway quickly adapt to the system of Pumaren despite of not having a practice with the rest of the players prior to Phoenix game. He dropped 29 points and 26 rebounds in his first PBA game.
