The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok at 6:45 P.M. on July 7, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Gin Kings are looking to make a two-game winning streak while the Hotshots wanted to make a quick bounce-back victory when the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup resume this evening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Magnolia seems to be the kryptonite of Barangay Ginebra each time the playoffs arrive.
Both in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup and in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup, the boys of coach Chito Victolero outshines the troops led by coach Time Cone.
Yet, in tonight’s game, Magnolia will see one of the upgrades in the lineup of the Barangay and that’s Stanley Pringle.
“Magnolia is really going to be a great test for us. They have knocked us out in the playoffs the last two conferences, and they’ve always been a tough matchup for us because of their backcourt quickness,” said coach Cone.
“We’ll see if our lineup with Stanley can make a difference. This game has great playoff ramifications for both teams. It should be a great Manila Classico,” said Cone.
The Hotshots, on the other hand, are still fresh from their heartbreaking loss against the rejuvenated Blackwater Elite.
For Magnolia, they also have a surprise for their long-time rival and that’s Marc Pingris who already played several games and might already get the feel of the PBA game after his long absence due to injury.
The Hotshots fans are waiting for the real “Pinoy Sakuragi” to come out and tonight might be the night.
