The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok at 6:45 P.M. on October 20, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City.
The Gin Kings will try to pick up another victory while the Hotshots don’t want to extend their losing skid when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup continues at the Big Dome tonight.
It’s that time of the year once again where most PBA fans await and that’s the “Manila Classico”.
“Manila Clasico is always a huge battle for us. There’s a different buzz in the air as the Clasico approaches,” said Ginebra coach Tim Cone.
Looking at the current standings, both Magnolia and Ginebra seem like they’re struggling, yet it’s expected that the two legendary franchises will be able to finish as one of the top-eight or even part of the top-four where they’ll carry a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
“Although, it’s early in the conference, there are a lot of ramifications in the standings that bring added pressure. We know each other so well; they know who they have to stop to win, and we know the same. It’s always exciting when we meet. Needless to say, we’re looking forward to the challenge,” Cone added.
For Magnolia’s camp, Romeo Travis remains to be doubtful for tonight’s main event game.
Travis sustained an injury during their game versus the San Miguel Beermen and then the Hotshots played an All-Filipino squad against the Blackwater Elite. Both of those outings were all lost for coach Chito Victolero squad.
