PBA fans rejoice, it’s the time of the year where we see once again the classic battle of the perhaps most popular basketball teams in the league, the Gin Kings and the Hotshots. The stage for the “Manila Classico” is set and will be played in the historic PBA bubble in Angeles City.

Team “NSD” will try to catch-up with the TNT Tropang Giga at the top of the standings while keeping their perfect record is what they will try to accomplish while the team previously known as Purefoods hopes that they will find their rhythm and ignite a winning streak.

Without a doubt, head coach Chito Victolero will try to avenge their ugly defeat versus the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters two nights ago.

After leading as much as 17 points, the Hotshots wobbled and gave their double-digit advantage as their opponent orchestrated a massive 22-0 run in the final chapter of their match.

Magnolia will try to prevent that lapses to happen again tonight most especially that most of the PBA fans are tuned in either as a virtual fan or watching on TV and in social media.

For head coach Tim Cone of the Ginbera camp looks like the early reports that several of his wards are out of share are no longer their advantage. The multi-awarded bench tactician got ample players from his roster who knew to take over the scoring slack and one of the names that stand out especially inside the bubble is Prince Caperal.

Likewise, Japeth Aguilar and Stanley Pringle already picked up their game, and that only means trouble to their opponents.

“We’re in a good rhythm right now,” Cone said. “We just got to make sure that we stay there, that we stay humble and realize what we’re doing is all because of hard work,” he added.

With regards to the excitement the Manila Classico will bring, coach Cone probably is the best person to ask for the details as he got the right insights between the two PBA historic franchises.

“I mean that’s one of the games I don’t have to say any great words to motivate because they’re automatically motivated when you come to them,” said Cone.

“It’s great rivalry, it’s a fun rivalry. I’ve been fortunately on both sides… so I know what it was like from both sides. So, it’s really a great rivalry.”
