The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Meralco Bolts at 6:45 P.M. on February 13, 2022 live from Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Gin Kings wanted to return to their winning ways right away as they resume their Governor’s Cup campaign while the Bolts are eyeing back-to-back wins and keep their immaculate win-loss record when the PBA third conference resume this evening at the Big Dome.
The Gin Kings and the Bolts are the two teams that usually end up in the Finals in the recent PBA Governor’s Cup and well, this current version of the third conference might end up in the same showdown.
However, the Bolts got a new reinforcement and so far their locals are in rhythm. Coach Norman Black’s club is still undefeated and tonight will be their real test as they face the defending champions.
Tony Bishop is currently one of the top-scoring imports and in their last game, he reigns supreme versus another high-scoring reinforcement, KJ McDaniels. Tonight, he will be tested against Allen Durham’s tormentor, Justin Brownlee.
“I think we’ve found a formula that we can use to win, and it starts with defense,” said Meralco coach Norman Black.
“Well, it has a lot to do actually with Tony Bishop being a very, very solid import and being consistent every game. But it starts with defense, the fact that we can actually slow things down and get them (their rivals) out of their offense.
For the team NSD, before the league temporarily postponed their games, they logged their first defeat against their Manila Classico nemesis and the current top team in this ongoing conference, the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok.
For sure, head coach Tim Cone wanted to introduce their team to Meralco’s new import most especially Brownlee.
