The Gin Kings is once again in the upper ground in this best-of-seven series after they took Game 3 last Sunday. Could the Bolts take 2-2 or Ginebra to take a commanding 3-1 lead?

That’s the question that will get its answer tonight when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals resumes at the Big Dome.

Ginebra may embrace the saying “don’t fix something that’s not broken” in tonight’s match where they’re expected to display the same offensive strategy they unleashed during the third quarter of Game 3.

After they emerged from their dugout, Gin Kings head coach Tim Cone advised his “twin towers”, Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter to take advantage of the absence of Bolts’ center Raymond Almazan.

Almazan went down early in the first quarter when his knee got collided with LA Tenorio’s leg. He was carried out by his teammate as he was seen in extreme pain.

“We talked about it at halftime (Sunday). I said this is the time for Japeth (Aguilar) and Greg (Slaughter) that can really make a lot of forays in the paint, get some seals with Raymond out. Big difference. One-point game at halftime, and then, he went out really in the third and we ended up beating them and got up by 20 points,” said Cone.

Though “Rock-en-Roll” was reported to be day-to-day, yet, what they needed at this stage is a 100% healthy Almazan as Aguilar is currently having a great game in this series.

Aguilar was named as the Best Player of the Game in Ginebra’s Game 1 and Game 3 victory.

Meralco also needs to rediscover their outside shooting similar to what they needed in Game 2 for them to have a better chance to tie the series at 2-2.
