The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NLEX Road Warriors at 4:30 P.M. on June 9, 2018 live from the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation, Albay.
The Gin Kings are seeking to end their worst start in the coach Tim Cone era while the Road Warriors are also seeking for another bounce back to game to keep 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign alive.
Barangay Ginebra struggled to find victories when they were with Chuck Garcia. The problem that they pointed out was that Garcia unable to blend with the style of game designed by coach Tim Cone.
Chuck Garcia was shipped out and the Gin Kings made an early call and re-hired Justin Brownlee who helped them win back-to-back PBA Governors’ Cup championships.
At present, even with Brownlee with them and the entire roster of Ginebra is back, still pulling another win continue to be a burden for them.
“We’re playing our third game na kumpleto kami. I think there are positive things na pwedeng kuhanin namin sa mga weekend games, but of course there’s room for improvement pa sa amin,” said Tenorio.
After winning a game against the Blackwater Elite, immediately NLEX absorbed another defeat in the hands of the powerhouse Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters.
Without their best back-court combination of Kevin Alas and Kiefer Ravena, KaTropa built an eleven-point lead and win the game.
“You still feel frustrated, you still feel angry at not being able to close it out very well because the last four or five minutes we still had the chance to win the game,” said NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao. “But kulang talaga kami sa firepower. When you play a team with a lot of offensive weapons like TNT, that’s the time you really miss Kiefer, you really miss Kevin.”
