The 2019 SEA Games are over and PBA teams are now back in their usual business particularly for the Gin Kings and the Batang Pier where they will open the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup semi-final round tonight at the Big Dome.

Championship hangover is one of the concerns for any team when they returned to their basketball campaign and this is what coach Tim Cone and four of his Ginebra players will try to avoid.

The five Gin Kings personnel were part of that Gilas squad that won the gold medal match against team Thailand a few days ago.

They’ll be battling a hungry NorthPort squad led by Christian Standhardinger, Sean Anthony and its import Michael Qualls that toppled the number one seeded team, the NLEX Road Warriors during the quarterfinals round.

“We know NorthPort is coming in with a lot of confidence and momentum after knocking out the no. 1 seed,” said Cone.

To keep Ginebra ready for a much bigger battle while their chief bench tactician was away, coach Olsen Racela kept the squad rolling.

“Coach Olsen did a great job of keeping our guys sharp and ready during the SEA Games,” said Cone.

The tonight’s battle will be first for Stanley Pringle against his former team in the semis that selected him as the top overall pick back in the 2014 Rookie Draft.
