The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 6:45 P.M. on June 1, 2019 live from the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Gin Kings are looking for win number two while the Batang Pier wanted to keep their winning streak and extend it to four in a row when the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup resume this evening.
After making the PBA floor seems like his playground, TNT import Terrence Jones finally found his match as NorthPort limited his points production to only 17 points compared to his whooping 42 points average.
With their import, Prince Ibeh who is a clear defensive specialist and the return of a healthy Stanley Pringle, coach Pido Jarencio’s squad is currently on a roll.
“We almost played a perfect game, especially on defense,” said Jarencio.
This evening, they will be having a much tougher test for them to identify if they’re now a legit title contender in the mid-season conference.
“Remember, they’re the champions in this tournament, and they have two other championships with their import in the Governors’ Cup,” said Jarencio.
Yesterday, a news broke-out as the Gin Kings able to pick-up one of the shining names in the free-agent marketplace. That name is Jared Dillinger formerly from the Meralco Bolts.
Most likely the “Barangay” fans feels excited with that news but they still need to wait for a while as the man who is also known as the “Daredevil” still nursing his injury.
“I heard that he was released by Meralco and I know that our management has been talking to him, but I haven’t heard for sure that he has signed with us,” Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said.
“If it’s true, we obviously are extremely happy to have him. He’s a multi-talented guy that I’ve pursued for many years.”
