The Gin Kings will try to catch up with the TNT Tropang Gilas at the top of the standings and remains undefeated while the Fuel Masters will try to quickly get back in their winning ways when the league resumes inside the PBA bubble in Pampanga this evening.
It seems like the usual face of a Gin Kings player during the post-game interview has finally resurfaced and that only means one thing for their opponent and that is “trouble”.
In their first two outings, it was reported that several of Ginebra players is either having an injury or not totally in game shape. Yet, that didn’t become a disadvantage for head coach Tim Cone squad rather the other players who usually have different roles in the team apart from the massive scoring duties took a step forward. In their season opener, it was Aljon Mariano and then it was followed-up by Prince Caperal.
During their game against the Blackwater Elite, Stanley Pringle became his patent “Stan-the-Man” performance at the same time Japeth Aguilar did his usual in your face jams who dropped 20 points.
Apart from Aguilar and Pringle, Mark Caguioa also make a personal historic game as he officially marked his 18th season in the league and playing to only one franchise and that’s the team NSD.
“Mark is a special guy, and only a special guy does special things,” said Cone. “That’s a record, and that’s a testament to his character, playing ability, and his ability to be a great teammate.”
For the Super LPG Fuelmasters on the other hand, they started the conference in flying colors despite Calvin Abueva still out and a new head coach. Their toughness was put to a test a few days ago when they faced the league-leading TNT Tropang Giga and the holes of their ship got exposed.
Without a doubt, interim head coach Topex Robinson already made patches to fix those lapses which cost them a game. It’s time for them to return back to the winning tracks and remains to be one of the PBA’s dark horses.
