The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 7:00 P.M. on June 7, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
A three-game winning streak and joining the second spot in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup are what the Gin Kings aspire this evening while the Elasto Painters wanted to avoid to get buried deeper and snap their two-game skid when the second conference basketball action resumes tonight at the Big Dome.
Ginebra’s import Justin Brownlee why he is the reigning Best Import. In their last game against the surging NorthPort Batang Pier he made another heroic acts at the end of the game and snatched the victory.
In their game against their season-ending conference rival, the Meralco Bolts, he delivered a triple-double performance plus a win.
Though they lost in their second conference opening game against the Blackwater Elite he was seen pouring points late in the fourth quarter to keep his team within striking distance.
Despite of their early success having a 2-1 slate in the standings, Ginebra head coach Tim Cone thinks that they still have to put more effort on protecting the ball.
“I almost didn’t remember to come in here. I coached poorly. I thought it was a loss. We were turnover prone,” said Cone after their match against the Batang Pier.
Rain or Shine on the other hand are still win-less in this mid-season conference after they finished second in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup and just a game away to advance to the All-Filipino Finals.
Coach Caloy Garcia continue to employ his long-range offensive strategy but it seems his players still adjusting their arsenal.
In their last outing versus the Blackwater Elite, ROS shoots 42 attempts from the rainbow territory. Unfortunately, they only converted seven from those tries.
If they made three more of those treys, they could have won the game.
