The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 5:00 P.M. on October 13, 2018 live from the Quezon Convention Center, Lucena City.
The Gin Kings are looking to extend their winning streak to five and strengthen their first place position in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup standings while the Elasto Painters wanted to break their losing streak and log their first victory this conference.
Bad news for Rain or Shine and to the entire teams of the PBA as Greg Slaughter and Sol Mercado are set to join the Gin Kings after got sidelined due to injuries.
With a full healthy lineup, Ginebra able to slay the defending champs of last conference’s Commissioner’s Cup the San Miguel Beermen.
Then this season-ending tourney, despite their key players got sidelined because of injuries, team NSD only absorbed one loss against the surprising team, the Blackwater Elite.
Barangay Ginebra just simply showing to everyone in Governors’ Cup they’re the Kings.
For Rain or Shine on the other hand, apart from having difficulties grabbing their first win they also have problem with its manpower.
Elasto Painters forward/center Raymond Almazan is gone missing for quite a while now.
“The last time I heard from him was before their game against Magnolia. Ako daw magsabi na hindi siya makakarating dahil uuwi siya sa kanila (in Bataan). He has missed two games and hasn’t shown up in practice,” said Danny Espiritu who is Almazan’s agent.
Coach Caloy Garcia need to dig deep in his bench and look for a player who is capable to take care the slack left by his 6’8 player.
