The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a best-of-seven finals Game 4 against the San Miguel Beermen at 7:00 P.M. on August 3, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Gin Kings is in a must-win situation or else the Finals momentum will be all in the Beermen side. They should also try to stop that blowout type trend and show to their opponent that they’re a true contender.
If it was Alex Cabagnot in Game 2, coach Leo Austria found another marksman from a not popular shooter from his squad.
Chris Ross found his long-range bombs as he torched the nets of the Big Dome with his seven converted shots. Most of his damage came in the third quarter as he spark that SMB run.
From there on, Barangay Ginebra unable to recover as they saw another blowout loss and gave up Game 3 to the Beermen.
“SMB tore our hearts and demoralized us. A truly great performance by them on both sides of the ball. We were simply embarrassed. I was embarrassed. The bottom line, though, we still have to remember that it’s a seven-game series, and the score is only 2-1,” said Cone.
Good thing for the Barangay Ginebra that the Finals is a best-of-seven and despite of back-to-back heavy losses, their opponent still up one game in the series.
“Though we scored two straight blowout wins, we got only a 2-1 lead, and it’s still a long way to go. We need two more wins to defend the title,” said San Miguel coach Leo Austria.
