The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the San Miguel Beermen at 6:45 P.M. on June 3, 2018 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Gin Kings are looking to break its dismal two-game losing slide and climb up from the bottom hole of the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings while the Beermen will use its previous victory to a gain winning momentum this conference.

Both Ginebra and San Miguel are in an unfamiliar territory. Usually these teams are on the top of the standings because of their winning-proven roster but at the moment they’re at the last four squads. Well, that means if the Quarterfinals starts now then both of these flag bearer of SMB franchise in the PBA got eliminated.

To improve their respective chances to improve their woeful win-loss record, Gin Kings recalled the services of Justin Brownlee while the Beermen hired Renaldo Balkman who is already playing with the team and delivered a victory in their last outing.

Just only a month ago, both Brownlee and Balkman led the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas to win the ASEAN Basketball League championship crown against the Thailand Mono Vampire.

Both imports of Ginebra and San Miguel are excited for their first head-to-head battle that will be held in the Mall of Asia Arena.

“We’ve got a handful with him. He’s an incredible player. He can definitely score the basketball. He’s a defender who can get his hands on the ball, so we definitely got our hands full. I can’t wait for the challenge,” said Brownlee.

“That’s my brother. We were in the trenches about a month ago. Now we are playing head-to-head,” said Balkman.

In the last outing of the Beermen versus the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters, Christian Standhardinger named as the Bida Player of the Game for the first time in his career in the PBA. The first overall pick of the 2017 PBA Rookie draft registered 18 points and seven rebounds. Also, that was his first win in the league.
