The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the San Miguel Beermen at 6:45 P.M. on September 10, 2017 live from Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen has found their winning form and looking to make back-to-back wins while the Gin Kings wanted to hold their top spot position in the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup standings.

Just last week, the “Never-Say-Die” team was involved in an exciting “Manila Classico” game and today another exciting matchup where most of PBA fans wanted to see.

The “Kraken” versus the “GregZilla” will be witnessed once again after a long time of absence in the league due to Greg Slaughter’s injury. At last, it’s finally here and the clash of the giants will be surely felt inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With their seven game winning streak, coach Tim Cone still finds the Beermen as the team to beat.

“I read somewhere coach Leo saying we’re the team to beat. But they’re really the team to beat, and there’s no doubt about that,” Cone also said.

Also, the veteran Ginebra coach was thankful that they have pulled a win in their last game against Blackwater. His entire troops need that winning momentum especially when meeting with San Miguel.

“It’s important for us to get this game for our quick turnaround playing San Miguel Sunday. You don’t want to play San Miguel coming off a loss,” said Cone.

Strugling Beermen import Terik Bridgeman is now replaced after showing-off unimpressive performance versus the Alaska Aces and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. Coach Leo Austria will introduce a new import tonight and his name is Terrence Watson.

“Siguradong mas makakatulong na sa amin ito,” said San Miguel coach Leo Austria of Watson, fresh from a championship run with his team in the Israel league.

“May tira siya sa perimeter at meron din three-point shots. Mataas ang basketball IQ at ka-jamming agad niya yung mga teammates niya,” added Austria, convinced Watson will bring in positive vibes at San Miguel.

Surprisingly this conference, San Miguel found themselves at the middle of the standings. In the last two conferences, SMB always finished first at the end of the elimination round.
