The GlobalPort Batang Pier is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Columbian Dyip at 4:30 P.M. on June 22, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Both teams have split their previous two game and will be battling to improve its chances on making it to the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Quarterfinals round. A quick bounce back game is a must for both squads.
Just few days ago, GlobalPort has sent Julian Sargent to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel for Paolo Taha and surprisingly, yesterday they have moved another piece in their roster. Kelly Nabong got traded to Beermen’s Gabby Espinas along with a future draft pick.
This is already the third trade which the Batang Pier this conference that started with Terrence Romeo before the start of the Commissioner’s Cup. With two games remaining in their schedule, coach Pido Jarencio are looking to make sure to have a seat going to the next round.
“We have to play consistent, good basketball offensively and defensively,” said GlobalPort coach Pido Jarencio.
For coach Ricky Dandan’s Columbian Dyip, the next round hopes are still very bright for them. However, their run-and-gun tempo might be altered as they prepare for Globalport clash.
“Our game plan will be a little different and we have to work for it because GlobalPort also wants to win but we’ll be ready for that,” said Dandan.
Columbian Dyip were once again had a blowout loss versus the Gin Kings last Wednesday and their import John Bailey Fields were seen in pain after he collided with LA Tenorio.
After that dismal performance, coach Dandan are putting it aside and focused to their next assignment.
“Were moving on. We have a crucial game on Friday. We still have a chance,” said Dandan.
