Talk ‘N Text import Terrence Jones aired his side why he hit Barangay Ginebra San Miguel guard LA Tenorio during their game last night at the Big Dome.
According to Jones, Tenorio punched him first in his stomach.
“I just wanted to be aggressive. He kinda punched me in the stomach beforehand and they didn’t call it,” said Jones.
As a result, the former Houston Rockets player was unable to get down on defense most probably because of the pain he felt.
In the next Ginebra ball possession, it so happen that Jones was in-front of Tenorio to play defense. Since “the Tenyente” is much faster that Jones he was able to escape the defense.
Then Jones seems like made an intentional foul to prevent Tenorio on making a basket.
The game officials made their review and they called a technical foul penalty 1 on TNT foreign hire.
This is the second time in just 10 days that Jones got involved in a hitting-a-player incident. The first one was against Calvin Abueva who clotheslined him. Abueva was later slapped by the league with an indefinite suspension. Jones on the other hand got fined with 70,000 pesos for hitting “The Beast” in the groin.
