The team India is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the team Iran at 9:00 P.M. on August 9, 2017 in Zouk Mosbeh, Lebanon.
Both India and Iran will be playing its first game when 2017 FIBA Asia Cup resumes in its second day.
During the 2017 William Jones Cup when Gilas Pilipinas played against team India, one player standout and that is Amjyot Singh Gill.
Although they got lambasted by Philippines men’s basketball squad, many have said that if Gill got another skillful player in their lineup, probably they’re able to give Gilas a more competitive game.
Well that wish is now granted for team India as Vishesh Bhriguvanshi and Satnam Singh Bhamara are both on their official roster submitted to FIBA.
Bhriguvanshi made a personal career-high in FIBA with his 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.8 asssits amd 2.5 steals during the 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge in Iran.
Of course, for those who doesn’t know Satnam Singh Bhamara, he is the first Indian basketball player to get drafted in the NBA. He is the India’s version of Yao Ming in China.
Bhamara was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks via the 2015 NBA Draft and was selected as the 52nd pick in the second round.
For team Iran on the other hand, they will be parading once again their giant in Hamed Haddadi.
Hadddi is another player in the tournament who got an NBA experience.
“We are well-prepared for the competition because we’ve trained well for the event for three past months. I think we will be in our best form after first two matches,” Haddadi said.
“I am not %100 but I want to help my team in some matches. I have to be careful not to worsen my injury,” the former Grizzlies center added.
